Generally speaking, in the process of raising laying hens, supplementary light is also a science, and if it is done incorrectly, it will also affect the flock. So how to supplement light in the process of raising laying hens? What are the precautions?
1. Reasons for light supplementation of laying hens
In the feeding process, light is very important. Under normal circumstances, laying hens generally need 16 hours of light per day, but under normal circumstances, natural light does not have such a long time, which requires what we call artificial light. The supplementary light is artificial, the light can stimulate the gonadotropin secretion of the chicken, thereby increasing the egg production rate, so the supplementary light is to increase the egg production rate.
2. Matters needing attention in filling light for laying hens
(1).Supplementing light to laying hens generally starts from the age of 19 weeks. The light time is from short to long. It is advisable to increase the light for 30 minutes a week. When the light reaches 16 hours a day, it should remain stable. It cannot be long or short. For more than 17 hours, the light should be supplemented once a day in the morning and evening;
(2).Different light also has a great influence on the laying rate of laying hens. Under the same conditions in all aspects, the egg production rate of laying hens under red light is generally about 20% higher;
(3).The light intensity should be appropriate. Under normal circumstances, the light intensity per square meter is 2.7 watts. In order to have sufficient light intensity at the bottom of the multi-layer cage chicken house, it should be appropriately increased.
Generally, it can be 3.3-3.5 watts per square meter. ;The light bulbs installed in the chicken house should be 40-60 watts, generally 2 meters high and 3 meters apart. If the chicken house is installed in 2 rows, they should be arranged in a crossed manner, and the distance between the light bulbs on the wall and the wall should be equal to the distance between the light bulbs. generally. At the same time, we should also pay attention to finding that the light bulbs in the chicken coop are damaged and replace them in time, and we can ensure that the light bulbs are wiped once a week to maintain the appropriate brightness of the chicken house.
